ADHD Assessment That Doesn't End at the Diagnosis.
A thorough adult ADHD assessment, followed by the post-diagnostic support that actually changes daily life. One clinician. One continuous relationship. Online, across the UK.

If you've been waiting years for an answer
Most people who find their way to Selphie have been quietly suspecting they have ADHD for a long time. They've read the articles, taken the online quizzes, mentioned it to their GP, joined the NHS waiting list — and then waited. And waited.
Some have already paid for a fast assessment elsewhere and been left with a diagnosis but no real plan. Some are women in their thirties, forties or fifties, finally putting language to a lifetime of feeling like everything was harder than it should have been. Some are professionals whose careers are starting to wobble under the weight of admin, deadlines and unread emails. Some are parents who recognised themselves while their child was being assessed.
Whatever brought you here — you're welcome.

WHAT MAKES SELPHIE DIFFERENT
A diagnosis is a starting point, not a destination.
The standard private ADHD pathway in the UK looks something like this. You pay for an assessment with someone you've never met. You get a diagnosis. You're passed to a different person for medication titration. Your GP is asked to take over prescribing — and increasingly says no. And nobody is doing the actual psychological work of helping you build a life that works with the brain you have.
Selphie is built differently.
I conduct your assessment myself. Not a delegated junior clinician. Not a 45-minute screening call. A full, structured, NICE-aligned diagnostic assessment with someone who has spent 28 years in mental health.
If you have ADHD, I'm also the person who works with you afterwards. Coaching for the practical side. EMDR therapy where past experiences are weighing you down. One continuous relationship.
I'm transparent about what I do and don't do. I assess and support — I don't prescribe. If medication is the right next step for you, I'll point you to the right route, and I'll tell you honestly what to expect.
No upselling, no rolling subscriptions, no surprise fees. The price you see is the price you pay.

Specialist mental health nurses are explicitly recognised by NICE, the UK Adult ADHD Network (UKAAN), ADHD UK and ADHD Aware as one of the categories of clinician qualified to formally diagnose adult ADHD. My assessments use the same DSM-5 criteria and the same validated tools (DIVA-5, ASRS, Conners) that you would encounter in any reputable adult ADHD service.

FAQs
Are you qualified to diagnose ADHD?
Yes. NICE guideline NG87 states that ADHD diagnosis can be made by a specialist psychiatrist, pediatrician or other appropriately qualified healthcare professional with training and expertise in the diagnosis of ADHD. The UK Adult ADHD Network specifically lists experienced specialist mental health nurses with ADHD training as professionals qualified to assess adult ADHD. ADHD UK and ADHD Aware confirm specialist nurses are one of three categories
How does remote assessment work?
We use secure video calls and a safety-first triage to ensure suitability.
What happens after my assessment?
You’ll receive a detailed clinical report quickly, perfect for your GP or workplace.
Are weekend assessments available?
Yes, but there is limited availability and there is an additional cost of £100 added to the assessment and packages.
Will my GP accept your diagnosis?
My diagnostic report follows the UKAAN Adult ADHD Assessment Quality Assurance Standard (AQAS) and contains everything a GP needs. That said, I'll be honest with you: GPs and ICBs across the UK are increasingly hesitant about shared care agreements with any private ADHD provider — psychiatrist-led ones included. This is a national pattern, not specific to nurse-led services. I'll talk you through what to expect from your GP before you book.
Do you prescribe medication?
No. I assess and support — I don't prescribe. If your assessment indicates that medication is the right next step, I'll explain your options clearly: an NHS Right to Choose route if you're in England, or a discussion with your GP.
Where are you based?
This service is entirely online, with clients across the UK. (Office is located in Wakefield, West Yorkshire)
How long is the wait?
Currently, 2 weeks waiting time
What does an assessment cost?
£695 for the standalone assessment. If you choose to bundle it with post-diagnostic coaching or therapy, the package prices are £1,295 or £2,150. There are no hidden fees and no rolling subscriptions.
What about medication? Can I get it through Selphie?
Selphie does not prescribe. Karen assesses and supports — medication is a separate conversation with a prescribing clinician.
If your assessment indicates that medication is the right next step, you have two main options in England. The first is the NHS Right to Choose pathway, which allows you to request that your GP refers you to an NHS-commissioned independent ADHD titration service for funded assessment and medication management. Selphie's report is written specifically to support this referral. The second is a private titration service, which is faster but involves an ongoing cost.
Karen will talk you through both options during your feedback session so you understand exactly what to expect, what your report can and cannot do, and how to approach your GP. You will not leave your assessment without a clear plan for next steps on medication if that is what you need.
What if my GP won't accept your report?
This is a question worth asking before you book, and Karen respects that. The honest answer is that GP responses to private ADHD assessments vary across the UK — this is a national pattern affecting psychiatrist-led services just as much as nurse-led ones.
Selphie's report follows the UKAAN Adult ADHD Assessment Quality Assurance Standard and contains everything a GP needs to support a Right to Choose referral. Karen will provide you with a tailored GP cover letter and, where needed, a template letter you can take to your GP requesting the Right to Choose referral as your legal right under the NHS Constitution.
If you want to understand more about how this works before booking, the contact form is the right place to start — Karen will give you an honest picture of what to expect in your area.
